Dr. Seuss Fun in Kindergarten

Mrs. Jones, our principal, was a guest reader in our class. She read a favorite Dr. Seuss book - Green Eggs and Ham.

We made green eggs and ham.

Most of us decided that we liked green eggs and ham.

The Cat from The Cat in the Hat visited us.
We wore our Cat in the Hat hats while the Cat read to us!

We ended our week by going to the movies to see Horton Hears a Who! What a Fun Week we had!!!

Parents –

We are ready for a new fun-filled, jam-packed, high energy week in kindergarten. I really hope we are here for the entire week this week; it seems like forever since we have been in school a complete week. Don’t get me wrong, days off are nice, but I’m ready to settle in and get to learning!

There are several items I need to make you aware of:

· Family Math Night is this Tuesday. Free dinner goes from 5-5:45 with math activities following. I will be there and I hope to see some of you.

· Chocolate for our Spring Fling basket is due to school by this Thursday.

· The enclosed book order is due back to school by Tuesday, March 4th.

Lastly, we have been learning to log ourselves on in the computer lab with our own personal login name and password, the children are doing a GREAT job with this. Last week, we visited the website www.starfall.com after we logged in. The children loved it. It is a great site – try visiting it with your child. If you haven’t checked out our class blog, try that also. It is www.ferrisfrogs.blogspot.com . There is a poll for the children to vote in going on there now at the bottom of the page.

Have a great week!!

Chocolate Needed!!!

As some of you know, the Spring Fling is our PTO’s big fundraiser of the year. The Spring Fling is a carnival like night that will be held on Friday, March 7th. The PTO does a silent auction on theme baskets the week leading up to the Spring Fling and the night of the Spring Fling. Each class is asked to put together a basket to be auctioned off. I chose “Death by Chocolate” as the theme for our basket. I am asking each of you to donate some sort of chocolate item, it can be anything having to do with chocolate – even as small as candy bars. The basket that brings the most money wins a class prize and a teacher prize. Oh course, we want to win!!! Please help us by sending in some sort of chocolate item to go in our basket by next Thursday, February 28th. We will also take cash donations and we can purchase some items if that is easier for you. Our PTO does sooooo much for our school, this is one way we can help them out.

Thanks for your help!!!
